Welcome To The
John George, Jr. Student Loan Fund
The John George, Jr. Student Loan Fund will loan qualified Michigan students up to $5,000 per year
at a 2% interest rate to attend Michigan state-supported colleges and/or universities on a full-time basis.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Jackson County Michigan residents and graduates of Jackson County Michigan high schools.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Student must have or will be graduating from a Jackson County Michigan high school.

Parent(s) must reside in Jackson County Michigan and/or a Jackson County Michigan School district.

Attend or be attending a Michigan state-supported college or university on a full-time basis.

WHERE DO I APPLY?
Applications are available October 1 - June 1 and may be downloaded from this
website or obtained from our office at 145 South Jackson Street, Jackson, MI.

Office hours:   Monday 1:00 - 5:00 P.M.      Tuesday - Friday 8:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M.

Applications are due in our office by mail or in person no later than June 1.

Applications received after June 1 will be considered on a funds-available basis.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS APPLICATION PROCESS IS FOR NEW STUDENTS SEEKING
TO OBTAIN A JOHN GEORGE, JR. STUDENT LOAN. JOHN GEORGE, JR. STUDENT
LOAN STUDENTS RE-BORROWING, WILL RECEVE A RENEWAL LETTER IN FEBRUARY.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Applications should be made as soon as possible. The application process, receipt of reference
letters, interviews, bank processing, and loan disbursement can take at least two (2) months or more.

Applications made on or near the ending due date will be processed in the order received
and subject to loan approval, and proceeds may not be available until after school begins.
